Why we're building The Discloser

While investigating a string of issues, we watched story after story get culled, sidelined, or forgotten. Not because they lacked merit or the facts didn't hold up, but because they didn't fit an agenda, a schedule, or a commercial appetite.

Why we're building The Discloser

Too many important stories never reach the public.

While investigating a string of issues, we watched story after story get culled, sidelined, or forgotten. Not because they lacked merit or the facts didn't hold up, but because they didn't fit an agenda, a schedule, or a commercial appetite.

After established outlets declined to cover issues that mattered, we decided to build a place where these stories could live.

That place is The Discloser.

We're here to do the work properly. That means holding ourselves to a few simple commitments:

  • Follow the evidence, wherever it leads
  • Seek perspectives from a wide range of people
  • Dig into the details others may skim past

Showing our workings

We believe that if a story is worth publishing, the process behind it should be visible too. That's why The Discloser uses Stone, a transparency platform that allows journalists to showcase their research process, so you can see how a story came together.

What the future holds

We're just getting started, and there's a lot on the horizon. We plan to experiment with new storytelling formats. We'll also be introducing new features designed to make information more accessible.

Beyond the content itself, we want to build a community around it. We'll host webinars and workshops where audiences can engage directly with journalists and knowledgeable guests about issues that matter to them.

And as our ambitions grow, so will our team. There's a lot to come!
